Silk is a natural protein fibre, some forms of which can be woven into textiles. The protein fibre of silk is composed mainly of fibroin and produced by certain insect larvae to form cocoons. The best-known type of silk is obtained from cocoons of the larvae of the mulberry silk worms known as Bombyx morireared in captivity (sericulture). The shimmering incoming light at different angles, thus producing different colors.
Silks or raw silk are produced by several other insects, but generally only the silk of moth caterpillars has been used for textile manufacturing. There has been some research into other silks, which differ at the molecular level. Many silks are mainly produced by the larvae of insects undergoing complete metamorphosis, but some adult insects such as webspinners produce silk, and some insects such as raspy crickets produce silk throughout their lives. Silk production also occurs in Hymenoptera (bees, wasps and ants).

Raw silk is a filament yarn. The gummy substance that comes with the silken yarn has not been separated. The sericin or sticky substance is removed by putting the cocoons in boiling water so that the gum separates out. The filament yarn is too fine to be woven directly. Hence the uneven strands are reeled in by hand and uniform strands are formed to make it suitable for weaving. Raw silk is of light beige to yellow colour. Since the yearn is not even and lacks lustre. The raw silk weaving produces a slightly dull and coarser fabric than one from pure silks.
Take the stunning combination of the mustard and black pure Banarasi raw silk salwar kameez. It has sequins and kundhan work along with spring embroidery work on the mustard colour Kameez. The salwar is plain black cotton, while the dual colour silk dupatta in light brown and blue black with checks pattern all over is a perfect match. This exquisite piece is suitable for exclusive occasions such as parties, weddings, big events.

The yellow and pink pure Jaipuri raw silk Punjabi suit has multi-colour embroidered floral buttis with kundan and phulkari work on the Kameez, with a blue and pink attached patch border.          Wavy Patterns of Leheria Prints – A Fashionable Wears of Women
Leheria Sarees have their origin in Rajasthan, India. Leheria is a style of saree with wavy patterns woven by tie & dye practices.  These saris are produced from in and around cities of Rajasthan like Jaipur, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Pali, Udaipur, Sikar, Barmer and others.

The most enticing attire of a woman is a six yards saree, which displays the women’s elegance. There are wide range of varieties and draping styles of a saree in India. Interest is paid by every woman to wear Leheria designs, because they are renowned for their uniqueness.
Leheria is a zigzag pattern that was stripped with irregular colors. It was patronized by the local traders of Rajasthan and its other cities in the earlier Nineteenth and twentieth century. Leheria are brightly colored cloths with distinctive patterns. The weavers of Leheria uses tie & die methods to produce complex wavy patterns.

Tie & dye also called as the art of Bandhani in Rajasthan. Specific to the regions, tie & dye varies with different motifs, designs and colors. Bhandhani or bandhej is a technique of tying and dyeing a fabric to weave the pattern. To prevent spilling of colors or coloring of the tied areas, the fabric is tied in small and big knots and then dipped into the dye.
By this process, the weaver creates different colorful circles and squares of all sizes on the pattern. By keeping the final pattern or design in the mind, the weaver can repeat this process several times and can use new shades for dyeing. Dyeing always starts with lighter shades and ends with darker shades. And after each successive dyeing, the cloth used for weaving the pattern is untied and dried.

A technique is used by the weavers for dyeing Leheria. Usually Silk or Cotton or handloom cloths are used for dyeing Leheria saree. In Leheria, the fabric will be diagonally rolled from one end to the opposite. And the weavers will use to tie the fabric at required intervals of time and then dyes it. Before dyeing, weavers will fold that fabric broadly or widely for resulting wavy patterns. Now days, a small portion of fabric is unrolled by the weavers to display the pattern.
Mothara is another technique of Leheria which is produced by additional dyeing. Here, the fabric is re-rolled and tied to the opposite diagonal and the original resists are removed. This results in checkered patterns with some small undyed areas. It looks like a leguminous plant, so that it was named as a Mothara.

Vegetable dyes are used by the weavers in ancient days for weaving a design, but today chemical dyes became popular. It is easy to weave a pattern by using chemical dyes and weavers are creating different designs and patterns easily by making use of these dyes.
There are different patterns or designs in Leheria like mountain patterns, swirling patterns, tear shaped patterns and circle-square patterns with dominant colors like yellow, red, pink, green and blue with unique variations. With color resist dyeing technique, Leheria is distinguished by natural and ripple effects with dominant colors.
Leheria Sarees are available in all cities of India and across the globe with affordable prices. Leheria patterns of circles and squares are well-famed as fashion wears. The Leheria saris with embroidery and patch works are suitable for weddings, grand occasions, dinners and night parties.

The salwar kameez is woven by ikkat technique. The beauty of Pochampally cotton salwar kameez comes from the ikat style.
The Nalagonda district, Pochampally of Andra Pradesh, India, is well known for its Pochampally brand of fabrics. The mix of cotton or silk or combination of the two. Pochampally cottons are woven by the ikkat technique. Ikkat dyeing is done wherein binding or substances resisting dye penetration are applied over the fibres in predetermined patterns and then the threads are dyed. The binding is done in an alternative way. The removal of the bindings and the subsequent weaving of the threads would form the desired pattern woven in the fabrics. The salwar kameez is an traditional form of dress material that is worn in India. It is worn in summer and winter also. The dress material is suitable for any working woman also.

Apart from weaving dyeing of the fabric is done by means of binding. There are two different styles in ikkat technique, Single ikkat and double ikkat styles. Pochampally cottons has wide range of colors and with unique patterns. The artistic excellence of ikat prints can be gauged from its traditional motifs of flowers, dancing girl, creepers, leafs, parrot, animals, birds, mythological characters and geometrical patterns. Most of ikkat printed salwar kameez and sarees have repeated geometrical patterns of diamonds (rattan chowk), circles, squares lines etc.

Ikat- is a type of weaving where the warp, weft or both are tie-dyed before weaving to create designs on the finished fabric. It is a water repellent material such as bicycle inner tubes cut into strip and tying resist. The precision of the wrapping determines the clarity of the design. After wrapping, the warp threads are dyed. When finished and unwrapped, the areas under the ties have stayed the original colour.
Numerous colours can be added after additional wrappings. Designs generally are worked out on the graph paper. Great care must be taken in putting the wrap on the loom, keeping all the threads in position is necessary for the design to work. The natural movement during weaving gives ikat designs a feathered edge which characterize the technique.

The Pochampally cotton dress material comes in different styles. The Pochampally cotton fabrics is well known in Andhra Pradesh and is well known in other countries also. A colourful range of fabrics like silk and cotton both mix comes duppatas, table mats, covers, cotton shirts and kurtis many more on display. Organza,Chiffon, sheer fabric, silk, synthetic, nylon, polyester, bridal, plain weave
Organza is a thin, sheer fabric, traditionally woven from silk. Today it is also woven from synthetic fabric materials like polyester or nylon. Mainly used to make smooth feel fabrics of style, it also creates a luxurious air through sheer curtains and enchanting drapes.

Organza is a sheer fabric that assumes a feel from very smooth to slightly coarse based on how finely it is woven. Having a matte or slightly lacklustre finish, it is dull in appearance and does not reflect light as well as silk or some other fabrics like chiffon.
UNM7170-Lovely traditional dark purple pure handloom maheshwari sico saree

Organza despite its thin and delicate appearance has good tensile strength. Primarily used in the making of evening dresses, sarees, bridal trousseaus, it also serves well for dress trimmings and inner linings in ready fabrics. Drapes of organza employed as curtains and airy separators for large spaces, are exclusive applications of the fabric.

A great advantage of organza fabrics is its very good affinity to colours and hence one can find a whole range of apparel of pleasing colours and varied shades. The fineness of the fabric allows prints and text to be transferred with the use of a computer and allied equipment onto the fabric directly.

This quality makes it available for graphical images and many other effects to be superimposed on top of a textured background, creating a magical illusory effect. Fraying at the edges of the print could be required a little to smoothen the fabric after printing is done.

UNM7146-Shiny party green pure handloom maheshwari sico saree
Chiffon and Organza are like cousins with similarity in appearance and very little distinguishing features. Both are soft, sheer, machine woven and made from silk or synthetic fibres. But for the discerning eye, the differences are visible. Chiffon is lustrous while organza is comparatively quite dull. As drapes, Chiffon flows more while Organza is stiffer. Organza has utility as an inner layer or insert, provides structural firmness for ready fabrics and also has appearance, while Chiffon has appeal only for its look.

Weaving of Silk organza is still popular in China, whereas in the US and India, apparel and other organza fabric items are woven using nylon and polyester, mainly due to the ease of availability and from an economic point of view.  In Italy and France, an extra fine or deluxe silk organza fabric is manufactured.
The balanced plain-weave organza is a fabric woven from thin and continuous filaments of natural fibres as silk, or synthetic fibres as nylon or polyester, or their blends. In plain weave the alignment of warp and weft creates a criss-cross pattern. Each weft thread goes over one warp thread and comes out from under another and so on. The threads of warp and weft are of the same size and the number of threads within a given cross sectional area, too are same. The end-result is generally a checker-board appearance.
